Welcome to Claudia Jean and all things ‘Self.’ Self-esteem: Who needs it? “I like myself just fine.” We hear it all the time, followed by stories of woe because others have been unfair. But have they? How can one be sure? Self-esteem: Such an easy concept—or not. Like a balloon, self-esteem can be over-inflated or under-inflated. It can also be punctured by a cross word. How do you measure what is ‘just right?’ And why is it such a moving target? Here today, struggling tomorrow. If you don’t believe it, consider self-esteem as it relates to puberty, divorce and the aging process! Self-esteem: “If everyone thought like me—how easy would it be? But they don’t and it isn’t! Until now! Claudia Jean is dedicated to teaching how to fairly communicate your Self in the presence of another’s Self. Self-esteem: Whether at home, at work or across the planet, everyone struggles to have their emotional needs met. Whether on the home front or foreign battlefields, wars are fought over the concept of respect and the perceived lack thereof. Self-esteem: Learn how to verify that you are fitting into the fabric of the moment--center stage facilitator or quiet observer. Appropriate Self may change behavior with the function and who is in the room but never one’s core. There are no power struggles because all your personal choices lead to powerful outcomes. Self-esteem: Before having clear communication with others, Self must have loving communication with Self. Socrates said, “First, know thyself.” To ‘know’ is to be informed, to recognize, to understand and get acquainted with your Self. And if you are already in perfect esteem with Self, do you know how to support someone who is not? Self-esteem, fully understood, answers the question: “Where do I end and you begin?” and lovingly, by example, teaches those skills to others. Complimentary Video One: Self-Esteem vs. Faux Esteem provides a template to judge your own behavior against the standard definition of “I like myself” as that is but one small component of true self-esteem. Complimentary Video Two: Mini-me vs. Maxi-ME draws a clear vision of what to expect as you use your full sense of Self to create positive change in the world.
